CAROL MCNAUGHTON
Visual Artist
Art has always been a constant in Carol’s life. From an early age, she was drawn to drawing and painting, eventually studying at the Southern Alberta School of Art. Like many creative paths, life took a practical turn, and after a variety of office jobs she found her way into the graphic arts industry, where she became the co-owner of a graphic arts prepress shop.
Carol’s work there immersed her in every stage of the traditional printmaking process - from initial concept development through prepress production, colour separations, film assembly, and preparing final negatives for print (that is how it was done). Carol also completed process camera training through the union, deepening her technical understanding of image-making and composition.
Carol plans to retire someday and be a little old lady painting in her garden.
